Did you think that amending the Constitution had to start with Congress?
If so, then you thought wrong.
Yesterday on his own network, Glenn Beck discussed the possibility of invoking Article V of our great Constitution to amend that document. Specifically, he would like an amendment that would force term limits on Congresscritters.
We think that makes perfect sense. Part of the reason that Washington is so dysfunctional is because career politicians put their own careers and the best interests of their political party ahead of the interests of the country. As a result, we see professional politicians voting for bills that they haven’t read and then we’re stuck with them because their constituents are foolish enough to re-elect them.
Enough is enough.
Also, the President is limited to two terms. Why is it a good idea to limit the President’s terms but not he terms of members of Congress?
Along with Mark Meckler of Citizens for Self-Governance, Beck conducted a great discussion about how the people can use Article V to amend the Constitution and put the brakes on government overreach.
Have a look at the video below. It’s very encouraging.
