33 Facts Showing How Badly The Economy Has Tanked Since Obama Became President

By , August 26, 2013.

America’s dire economic situation has been largely ignored by the mainstream media, who pick and choose unimportant, irrelevant or misleading statistics to ensure citizens that things aren’t quite as bad as they seem.

Author Michael Snyder, who wrote the terribly pessimistic (but all-too-telling) “The Beginning of the End” has written a piece for titled “33 Shocking Facts Which Show How Badly The Economy Has Tanked Since Obama Became President.”

In it, and in great detail, Snyder explains irrefutable facts that point to our soured economy since President Obama took office. Here are the first five:

#1 When Barack Obama entered the White House, 60.6 percent of working age Americans had a job.  Today, only 58.7 percent of working age Americans have a job.

#2 Since Obama has been president, seven out of every eight jobs that have been “created” in the U.S. economy have been part-time jobs.

#3 The number of full-time workers in the United States is still nearly 6 million below the old record that was set back in 2007.

#4 It is hard to believe, but an astounding 53 percent of all American workers now make less than $30,000 a year.

#5 40 percent of all workers in the United States actually make less than what a full-time minimum wage worker made back in 1968.

Looking at some of these items – all meticulously sourced – it’s amazing that Obama won re-election. Then again, when you have the lamestream media in your back pocket, nothing is impossible – or improbable.

In 36 months, when the 2016 election is in full steam – if we haven’t pulled ourselves out of this mess, how will the media spin it then? This administration is beginning to make the term of George W. Bush look like a veritable panacea.

Yeah hi um… This is only 5 facts.
I can’t stand Obama one bit AT ALL. But where’s the rest?

gooootcha… I didn’t even read that part. His face was too busy being on my screen so I skipped to the numbers. Derp

Yeah–where ARE the rest of the facts?

      • mcline

We can thank Republicans and Democrats alike for doing this to us. We spent the last 30 years raising our families and trusting the government to do us right and they have put the screws to us. The only way out is to fire them all, even if it takes a revolution.

If you haven’t figured it out by now, their goal is to break the middle class and make us dependent on the government. Once that is done, they own us…so they think.

        • John Q. Public

You’re right, mcline, that’s been Obama’s plan from the beginning: break America. Avi Lipkin says he’s a Saudi plant, here to ruin our economy and put us so deep in debt we’ll need a bailout like Greece did. Then the Saudis rush in with enough money to bail us out. Only one condition: we declare the United States to be an Islamic nation. If somebody wants to go after Obama, I’ll provide the ammo and travel expenses.

Is it necessary to show his smirks and ridiculous faces he makes. U can see he plainly doesn’t care about anyone but himself.

    • John Q. Public

Well said, Suzette. He’s a narcissistic emperor with no clothes on who’s been told for years he was so good…good enough for Columbia despite deplorable grades at Occidental; good enough for Harvard law, despite a lack of academic success; good enough for the U.S. senate despite a lackluster single term in Illinois; and good enough to be president despite a lack of legislative success in the senate where he spent most of his time grooming himself for a presidential run. What can we expect of him as president? He’s a fraud, he’s a liar, he’s a homosexual, he’s a Jeremiah Wright styled America hater, he’s socialist, he’s a Muslim…no wonder he spent so much money to cover up his origins. And yet blacks and Latinos put him in office where he can only make his smooth-talking speeches with a teleprompter without which he is clueless, inarticulate and can’t think on his feet. A guy like that has to have been put in office by rigged elections, disinformation, a bought-and-paid-for news media (financially extorted by George Soros) and Saul Alinsky’s “Rules for Radicals” principles.

I sure didn’t realize the 53% of Americans make less than $30,000. That is astounding.

It really doesn’t matter how they sugar coat it or who does it……
We are $17 trillion in debt. The government doesn’t even bring in enough money to pay the interest. We also have 20+ million illegal We also have 20+ million illegal aliens living here, who are putting a tremendous drain on our social systems and the economy. The only way to turn it around is to shed the load and pay the debt. Anything else will drag us into a civil war.

In 1980, it was predicted that by the turn of the century, the standard workweek would be between 30 and 35 hours a week. Who would have known, that the wages wouldn’t rise to match inflation, and those shorter workweeks would be lacking healthcare insurance, and other benefits formerly enjoyed by dedicated employees? Our country in indebted to countries like China, a country that does the majority of our manufacturing, has few workers’ rights laws, two different currencies, one for international trade, another for citizens, and a country that is an ever increasing threat to our country’s ability to maintain itself! Our leaders need to do more to promote manufacturing here, in OUR country, and worry a lot less about what goes on in the rest of the world that seems intent on destroying itself. In my opinion, we were much better off 50/60 years ago, when we took care of ourselves FIRST, knew who was coming and going across our borders, and really defended this country against foreign influences. I don’t see how this country can continue to survive, if our leaders don’t redirect their focus to taking care of business at home!

#1 The unemployment rate when Obama walked into the White House really can’t be his fault, now can it? The economy was in free-fall when Obama took office.

#2 Part-time jobs are still better than no jobs.

#3 Yes, we are still in recovery from the economic mess that was created when Bush was president.

#4 If conservatives are really upset by low wages, they should support a higher minimum wage, which exerts upward pressure on all wages.

#5 People making less money is one of the goals of the GOP with right-to-work laws. I agree it’s a problem, but why are THEY complaining about it?
