Seriously, if your last name is “Rape” change it. Whatever family heritage you are trying to preserve is simply not worth it. Where does a name like that even come from? “Baker,” “Miller,” and “Cooper” became last names based on occupations. Was the founding “Rape” forefather a democrat or something? Oddly enough, a guy named Dennis Rape is being accused of racism, which as you will soon see is less offensive than his last name.
WJZY reports that Dennis Rape is a school board member in Union County, NC. His fellow board members have accused him of racism and are calling for his resignation. According to the board, Rape made “racially insensitive” remarks in a closed-door meeting back in November. Rape has denied these allegations.
“Racially insensitive comments have no place in Union County Public Schools. And I again renew my call for his resignation. He is unfit to serve this board,” said Gary Sides of the Union County Board of Education.
So what exactly did Rape say? According to liberal website Raw Story, and without any links, he said this:
Among other things, Rape allegedly told three board staff members that you “don’t get between a black man and his pork,” while also quoting a Dave Chappelle skit that repeatedly employed the word “n*gger.”
Context is everything so even if Rape really said these things, that hardly makes them racist. I get it that white people aren’t allowed to say the N-word, but if he was quoting a Chapelle Show skit and it wasn’t directed at a black person or used in a derogatory way, that ain’t racism. That line about black men and pork is the same thing. It matters how he used it and to whom it was directed. I have a feeling most black men (except the Muslims) would agree that they don’t like people messing with their pork.
So that’s two out of the three “racist” things Rape is alleged to have said. The fact that the third one is not mentioned tells me it is even less offensive than the other two. This hardly seems like the thing a man should be forced to resign over, but we live in stupid politically correct times.
The board voted unanimously to censure Rape, which means they basically just said, “Shame, shame, everybody knows your name.” Rape was apparently disgusted by the action against him and left the meeting before the vote took place, but he still has his job. What would have been truly mind-blowing would have been if he was fired and his replacement was named John Rapier. Get it? They replace “Rape” with someone who is “Rapier.” Okay, I’ll stop.
I realize this would have been a better story if Dennis Rape was actually accused of sexual assault. Or if he was a therapist (the rapist) accused of improper sexual conduct with a patient. Still, the guy’s name is “Rape” and I find that weird as hell. It’s like one of those “Man Bites Dog” headlines: Rape Accused Of Racism.
