Disgraced pervert Al Franken is hopping mad about the Supreme Court nomination of Brett Kavanaugh. According to the former Senator with busy hands, President Trump nominated a conservative judge to, you know, be a conservative judge. This a problem in Franken’s mind because it shows Trump is promoting his conservative agenda by nominating a conservative. What was liberal Obama doing when he nominated liberal Supreme Court Justices? There’s actually an answer to that. Franken says Obama was being non-partisan and impartial by putting whacko leftists on the court.
An alternate headline for this could have been: USA Today Gives Sexual Predator A Forum To Lie About Things. Seriously, USA Today let Franken unleash his his liberal bullshit in an op/ed piece over the weekend. What? They couldn’t find any convicted sex offenders to weigh on on Kavanaugh’s nomination?
In any case, Franken starts this garbage out by “disqualifying” Kavanaugh from ever serving on the Supreme Court:
Recall that, in his opening remarks at the White House ceremony announcing his nomination, Judge Kavanaugh praised President Donald Trump’s diligence, declaring that “no president has ever consulted more widely, or talked with more people from more backgrounds, to seek input about a Supreme Court nomination.”
Kavanaugh’s lie should disqualify him
This was extremely untrue. President Barack Obama, for example, had taken a month or close to it to pick both Sonia Sotomayor and Elena Kagan. Trump had taken just 12 days to make his pick.
If judgment matters, and if we want judges who make their judgments based on a full and fair understanding of the facts, a big, fat, easily debunked lie like Kavanaugh’s should have been instantly disqualifying.
Well…we’re waiting. Please easily debunk Kavanaugh’s lie. Franken says that Obama took a few more days to make his Supreme Court picks but that doesn’t mean Trump didn’t talk to more people. Obama is a lazy asshole and Trump actually gets things done. How many people did Obama consult? How many people did Trump consult? Franken doesn’t know so he can’t possible say Kavanaugh lied.
If Kavanaugh had said that nobody has grabbed more tits and ass than Trump, then yes, Franken could have easily debunked that lie. He could just point to himself and go “yo.”
If that seems dumb, and it does, this is somehow how dumber. Here is where Franken comes to the sudden revelation that the sitting President gets to pick Supreme Court nominees:
Brett Kavanaugh is a partisan who was nominated, and will likely be confirmed, in order to help achieve the Republican Party’s goals: destroying protections for people with pre-existing health conditions, eradicating what’s left of workers’ rights and, yes, overturning Roe v. Wade.
It’s maddening to watch her and the rest of the Republicans continue to pretend that they still have any respect for the high-minded ideals that are supposed to preserve the impartiality and independence of the Supreme Court. Kavanaugh is proof that there is no precedent they won’t trample, no revelation they won’t shrug off, no principle they won’t contradict, if it means getting the outcomes they want.
Everything Franken said about Kavanaugh is bullshit and only based on liberal hysteria, but what he’s really getting at is that he can’t believe a conservative President would nominate a conservative judge. He’s equally shocked that Republicans would support the nominee from a Republican President.
Franken actually sat on the Senate Judiciary Committee when Obama’s nominees Elena Kagan and Sonja Sotomayor were confirmed to the Supreme Court. Both of these justices are far-left kooks who push a liberal agenda. I don’t remember Franken sounding the alarm that Obama and the democrats were trampling on the independence and impartiality of the Supreme Court, do you?
Like Obama said, “elections have consequences.” The guy in the White House gets to pick Supreme Court nominees and that includes current President Donald Trump.
Franken’s actual argument here is that Trump shouldn’t be allowed to do something that every other President has done and that is part of his Constitutional powers. If that ain’t a liberal argument, I don’t know what is. Hey, at least Franken made it all the way through this op/ed with groping any women.
