Al Gore claims to have invented the Internet, which is preposterous, but Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez is taking credit for inventing socialism, so she wins. The darling of the Democratic Party, who is all of 28-years-old and has never served a day in Congress, is not only bragging that she came up with stuff like Social Security and universal health care but also that her policies have been proven to work. This is dumb on so many levels I can see why democrats are embracing her.
Democratic Socialist Ocasio-Cortez instantly became the face of the Democratic Party when she beat out incumbent Joseph Crowley in a New York primary. Let me restate that she hasn’t actually been elected to Congress nor has she ever held a job as a lawmaker or policymaker. Her Bernie Sanders style of socialism and bullshitting however has the democrats very excited for the future of the party because they are all idiots.
Here’s a perfect example of the idiocy that has the left swooning:
It’s almost as if… my platform advances policies… that are already proven to work! 🤔 – Social Security (lift the cap) – Medicare (for all) – Tuition-Free K-12 schools (& higher ed) – Federally mandated minimum wage ($15) They aren’t all my ideas. But they ARE good ideas! pic.twitter.com/2tOLgCkj34

Where should we start? First, none of those are her ideas. She indicates that “some” of this stuff might not be her ideas, but exactly zero things on that list originated with Ocasio-Cortez. She’s basically describing socialism, which she most certainly didn’t invent. Karl Marx did way back in 1848 with the Communist Manifesto. FDR came up with Social Security, universal healthcare has been around since the 1930’s, tuition-free K-12 has existed since the birth of education, and the federally mandated minimum wage was instituted in 1938. Ocasio-Cortez has no claim to any of this as she was born the same year The Little Mermaid came out.
Next, these are not Ocasio-Cortez’s policies because she’s not actually an elected official; she’s just a candidate who has never held office before. In order to have a policy on something, one needs to be in charge of something. They may be her platforms, but they sure as shit aren’t her polices.
Technically she claims that her ideas have “advanced policies” which is just as absurd. She didn’t come up with this stuff, she has never presented these ideas in the capacity of a lawmaker, and as I pointed out, all of this stuff was around and failing way before she was born.
Then there’s the sticky problem with her claim that these policies she invented work. Social Security is a nearly insolvent mess that will collapse very soon. ObamaCare has been a disaster in this country and universal healthcare in other nations means waiting weeks and months to receive life-saving care. While primary education in this country is free, our education system is a laughing stock that turns out dumbasses like Ocasio-Cortez. The only thing an artificially high minimum wage achieves is low-paid workers being replaced by machines. As a general rule, socialism never works out well and the proof of that is every socialist society in history has crashed and burned.
Lastly, Ocasio-Cortez pats herself on the back saying that her ideas are good. This is only true if she’s using the liberal dictionary where words mean something other than what they do to normal people. Perhaps “good” in liberalspeak means “complete failure” or “stupid.” I don’t know, but it’s the only way to explain this delusion on the effectiveness of socialism.
I can see why Ocasio-Cortez is so popular among democrats: she takes credit for things she didn’t have anything to do with and she’s full of shit. All she has to do now is blame the mess the democrats have created on the Republicans and they will make her queen of the party.
