A couple of years ago someone opened fire in a movie theater that happened to be playing Amy Schumer’s film Trainwreck. Because everything is about her, Schumer took it personally and became a rabid anti-gun, even helping her cousin Sen. Chuck Schumer introduce some worthless gun control legislation. Amy’s hatred of guns however only extends to them being in the hands of law-abiding people. When it comes to glorifying them in a movie for a big fat paycheck, guns are awesome.
I know you must be shocked that a liberal celebrity is a hypocrite, but Schumer’s new film Snatched shows her wielding a gun. Apparently the movie is about a mother and daughter (not sure which one Schumer is) who travel to Ecuador and are kidnapped. They must then fight for their lives, and at some point utilize an “evil” firearm to keep from being killed.
In the trailer you can see Schumer in a bikini (yikes) as well as her holding a gun on someone and threatening to kill him. What kind of message does that send? Let’s keep in mind that Schumer once gave the media a bunch of shit for saying “gun control” instead of her preferred “gun safety.” Is it safe for Schumer to point a gun at another person with her finger on the trigger. Sure, it’s just a movie, but people imitate things they see on film and TV.
I think this is supposed to be a comedy, though with Amy Schumer it’s hard to tell, but that makes this even worse. Not only is she an anti-gun hypocrite making money off of glorifying guns, she’s making light of the situation. Guns are no joke. Firearms shouldn’t be treated like gags because, again, kids see this stuff and then don’t have a healthy respect for the deadly power of a gun.
The fact that Schumer’s character is using a gun to protect her own life adds to the ridiculousness of her anti-gun position. In reality, there is no better tool than a gun to keep a bad guy from doing bad things to you, but Schumer thinks disarmed people are safer.
Before the election Schumer said she would definitely leave the US if Donald Trump won. After he kicked Hillary Clinton’s ass, people asked Schumer why she hadn’t left the country to which she replied that anyone who took her seriously about that was “disgusting.” I’m sure we will get a similar response when people point out the hypocrisy of her anti-gun position and willingness to make money off of appearing in gun porn. In fact, I guarantee that I am a misogynist for even bringing this up.
Amy Schumer joins a long list of Hollywood hypocrites like Sylvester Stallone, Mark Wahlberg, and Liam Neeson who don’t think you and I should be allowed to own guns, but love cashing big checks to play trigger-happy characters in movies. If your integrity is for sale, you truly are a piece of shit. I don’t care that liberals hate guns, but they should at least stand by their beliefs. It’s real simple: if you are against guns, don’t make movies that glorify guns.
