For the past couple of weeks all we’ve heard about is how some racist white devil was burning churches in the St. Louis area. Arson is suspected in 7 church fires in the month of October. As it turns out, that racist white devil is actually a black man, so it’s safe to cancel the racism alert and resume normal operations.
The St. Louis Post-Dispatch reports that police have arrested 35-year old David Lopez Jackson for two of the fires and he is considered a suspect in 5 others.
Forensic evidence and video of his car link Jackson to the fires, Police Chief Sam Dotson said. A container of gasoline and a Thermos bottle that smelled of gasoline were found in his car, Dotson said.
When asked what possible motivation Jackson could have to set fire to black churches, Dotson replied, “We’re still trying to understand that.”
Although the locations of the fires in predominantly African American neighborhoods gave rise to speculation that the motive might be race-related, Jackson is black.
Jackson is charged with two counts of second-degree arson for torching the New Life Missionary Baptist Church and the Ebenezer Lutheran Church, both located in St. Louis. He is being held on a $75,000 bond.
Not only is Jackson a church-burning scumbag, he’s also a cop-assaulting scumbag. He has a lengthy arrest record:
Jackson’s criminal record dates to 1998 when he was arrested and charged with unlawful use of a weapon. He has also been charged with domestic assault, burglary, drug-related crimes, resisting arrest and assaulting a police officer.
Court records indicate that he was ordered to undergo a mental health evaluation, and an order of protection was sought against him to stay out of the city’s Wells Goodfellow neighborhood, in 2009.
Sounds like a hell of a guy. I wonder if he’s one of those “non-violent” offenders Obama says the justice system has been unfair to.
For his latest indiscretion of assaulting a police office, Jackson spent 120 days in jail from March to June of this year. It was supposed to be followed by 4 years of supervised probation. I guess it wasn’t all that supervised if he was running around St. Louis burning churches.
Here’s the part that really gets me:
The Rev. Robert Gettinger, of St. Augustine Catholic Church, 1371 Hamilton Avenue, said news of an arrest is a relief.
“We pray for the person who has done this. It seems to be mentally off balance behavior,” Gettinger said.
If it was a white guy arrested for these church burnings, people would be screaming about the racism and calling for terrorism charges, but a black guy gets busted and they pray that he gets the help he needs. Double standard much?
Over the summer there were a series of black church burnings in the South that were blamed on white racism. Most of those burnings turned out to be weather and faulty wiring related, but that didn’t stop the black activists from continuing to blame racism. Here, we have an actual black guy responsible for the St. Louis black church arsons. I wonder how activists will spin this into being evil white people’s fault.
