Remember how the GOP passed tax cuts that benefitted everyone including businesses that turned those savings into jobs and higher wages? Well, California ain’t having it. The democrats that run the state hate it when they don’t get to take the fruits of other’s labor and waste it on silly crap. California wants to force companies to turn over those tax-cut savings to the state so they can pamper illegal aliens and persecute law-abiding useful people.
I’m not exaggerating about this and here’s SF Gate to prove it:
California lawmakers are targeting the expected windfall that companies in the state would see under the federal tax overhaul with a bill that would require businesses to turn over half to the state.
A proposed Assembly Constitutional Amendment by Assemblymen Kevin McCarty, D-Sacramento, and Phil Ting, D-San Francisco, would create a tax surcharge on California companies making more than $1 million so that half of their federal tax cut would instead go to programs that benefit low-income and middle-class families.
Yeah right, California is going to spend taxpayer money on stuff that benefits middle class families. Here’s one of the bill’s sponsors to explain why that’s a complete load of shit:
“Trump’s tax reform plan was nothing more than a middle-class tax increase. It is unconscionable to force working families to pay the price for tax breaks and loopholes benefiting corporations and wealthy individuals. This bill will help blunt the impact of the federal tax plan on everyday Californians by protecting funding for education, affordable health care, and other core priorities,” said enemy of capitalism Phil Ting.
So this money is going to affordable health care and other core priorities? Like illegal alien benefits and other whacko liberal crap? I’m not sure this guy understands who the middle class is or what kinds of things benefit them. I also don’t think he gets that tax for everyone means that everyone pays less. He literally just said that the middle class is going to have to pay for the GOP tax cuts, which is a complete lie.
California has already been bleeding businesses because of the state’s insanely high taxes. They now want to raise the taxes further, which means more of them will leave the state. When businesses leave, jobs leave. Both of these things mean less entities paying taxes and that creates a situation where the genius democrats will raises taxes further. It’s astounding to me how bad liberals are with basic economics.
This proposed bill is actually a constitutional amendment that requires a two-thirds vote from the California state legislature. Considering that almost every state lawmaker is a democrat, it’s a given that it will pass. Once Governor Jerry Brown signs it, and he will, it then goes to a ballot measure in which the people will vote on it. I know that Cali is unapologetically liberal, but I have to believe even leftist kooks understand how devastating this proposal will be for the state and vote it down. Then again, underestimating the stupidity of liberals is pretty stupid.
