I think a better headline would have been: Muslim Group Blames Trump For Rise In Anti-Muslim Hate Crime Hoaxes. There exists this liberal-driven myth that since Trump’s election there has been a wave of hate crimes perpetrated by supporters of the President. For every legitimate hate crime (usually anti-white hate) there are 20 hoaxes. The liberal media reports these incidents with zeal when they happen, but curb their coverage when they are exposed as lies.
That’s what makes this thing from KMSP so hilarious:
A new report from the Council on American-Islamic Relations shows a sharp increase in attacks and bias against Muslims in the past year, with many at a meeting in Minneapolis Monday night citing the Trump administration as part of the reason for the spike.
Federal investigators say three men from Illinois bombed the Dar Al-Farooq Islamic Center in Bloomington, Minn., last summer in an effort to get them to leave the country. Now, Muslim leaders say the incident is part of a growing wave of anti-Muslim discrimination and violence across the U.S., highlighted by President Donald Trump’s travel ban on primarily Muslim countries.
“All of these incidents just show you that not only here in Minnesota, but across the country, bias crime against Muslims is at an all-time high,” said Minnesota CAIR Director Jaylani Hussein.
All of what incidents? He listed one incident and even that was way overstated. The Dar Al-Farooq Islamic Center bombing was 3 idiots who threw a small explosive made out of plastic PVC tubing into the building where it proceeded to hurt no one.
The CAIR report blaming Trump is also a joke:
The report says incidents of anti-Muslim bias jumped from about 2,200 in 2016 to almost 2,600 last year, while anti-Muslim hate crimes went from 260 to 300.
The Minnesota chapter of CAIR says there were 43 cases of anti-Muslim bias reported in the state last year, compared with 20-30 the year before, the first year they started collecting data.
How exactly do you measure incidents of anti-Muslim bias? These are not crimes and don’t get reported to the police. Is there a CAIR hotline where Muslims can call in and complain that people don’t like them? If so, I would imagine the anti-Muslim bias incidents would be much much higher.
Also, as I mentioned anti-Muslim hate crime hoaxes have been very prevalent since Trump became President. Is CAIR counting the hoaxes as part of the hate crimes? Are they using reported hate crimes or ones that actually involve an arrest or conviction? I bet if they did it would show a massive drop in anti-Muslim hate crimes.
But hey, you can’t portal yourself as a victim by using accurate information. You also need a boogeyman:
“We believe President Trump’s racist remarks and targeted remarks against Muslims have actually helped those who have biases against Muslims to actually act upon that and hurt people,” said Hussein.
I’m sorry, what are those “racist” remarks Trump has made about Muslims? I know the statements liberals claim are racist against Mexicans and blacks, but until now, nobody has even tried to twist Trump’s words against Muslims.
