Yesterday House democrats took the side of Kim Jong-un over President Trump in the escalating North Korean threat. Today, they straight up pledged their allegiance to the communist regime by moving to strip Trump of his ability to defend the country. In a letter to Speaker of the House Paul Ryan, a democrat demanded that Trump be stripped of his power as Commander-in-Chief, which would enable North Korea to strike the US without consequence.
Rep. David Cicilline (D-R.I.) fired off an irresponsible letter to Ryan, which demands that the House be called back into session so they can debate his crazy AF bill that would take any kind of military control away from the President.
In light of the ongoing standoff between the United States and North Korea, as well as President Trump’s reckless words. I ask that you immediately call the House of Representatives back into session to debate legislation prohibiting the U.S. from conducting a preemptive nuclear strike without prior congressional authorization.
It is critical that the Trump administration exhaust all diplomatic options before resorting to military force. Instead, President Trump has made a dangerous situation even worse by asserting that the United States is “locked and loaded” to bring “fire and fury” to North Korea.
The president’s words matter. And in this case, his words have been harmful. There are more than 20,000 Americans serving on the Korean Peninsula today. Millions of Americans live within range of North Korea’s intercontinental ballistic missiles. If the President will not diffuse this situation, then Congress must.
One option that dozens of my colleagues and I support is H.R. 669, the Restricting First Use of Nuclear Weapons Act., which would prohibit the United States from conducting a first-use nuclear strike without prior authorization from Congress. This legislation, which maintains the President’s ability to immediately retaliate against a nuclear strike, will provide the opportunity to reduce tensions and prevent a catastrophic nuclear confrontation.
Here’s a few thoughts on this: First, if our enemies know that the President cannot send a nuclear strike they certainly will not respect us in any way. Second, what kind of lunatic thinks we need to see mushroom clouds over American cities before we can act? Third, Congress can’t decide on what to have for lunch, so putting them in charge of a critical decision to defend our country, where seconds matter, is absolutely insane.
What Cicilline and his fellow democrats want to do is basically invite North Korea to attack us. They are essentially working on behalf of the Jong-un regime by trying to strip Trump of his presidential powers.
The democrats love to toss around the word “treason” in regards to the baseless Trump/Russia collusion myth, but this actually is treason. An elected official wants to make it easier for a hostile country to make war with the United States. That’s the literal definition of treason.
Instead of calling Congress back to session to debate this ridiculous bill, Paul Ryan should have David Cicilline and any of his democratic traitor colleagues brought up on charges of colluding with America’s enemies.
What makes this most sickening is that all of this bullshit is the result of the anti-Trump “Resistance.” These liberal pieces of shit are so butthurt over the results of a free election that they would enable our enemies and put our country at risk. I can’t even think of a worse thing than this.
