Democrats are the worst legislators and people in Congress, so it’s not all that shocking that they are also the worst bosses. Based on how crappy it is to work for members of Congress, a political strategy website has determined that democrats in both the House and Senate rank as the worst bosses. If they could calculate how full of shit Congress is with hard data, I’m certain democrats would come out on top of that as well.
Politico reports LegisStorm, a site that tracks the Capitol Hill workforce, has a new feature called “Worst Bosses” that records the annual turnover rate for Congressional staffers. The idea is that the more employees a member of Congress goes through, the worse it must be to work for that person. Politico ran the numbers for the years between 2001-2016 and this is what they came up with:
In the House Sheila Jackson Lee (D-TX) had an astounding annual 62% turnover rate with her staff. Think about that for a second. Every year, 62% of this woman’s employees either quit or are fired. Retail, generally considered one of the worst jobs, has an annual turnover rate of 13%. Working for Sheila Jackson sucks almost 5 times more that scraping gum off the floor at Walmart.
Coming in second for the House was Rep. Raul Ruiz (D-CA) with a clean 60% turnover rate. The worst Republican boss was Rep. Mark Sanford (D-SC) with 54%.
Over in the Senate, things aren’t quite as bad but Amy Klobuchar (D-MN) took the worst boss crown with a 36% staff turnover rate. She was followed closely by Maria Cantwel (D-WA) with 30% and Joe Manchin (D-WV) 28%. The worst Republican boss in the Senate was Maine Senator Susan Collins who loses 24% of her staff annually.
Apparently Congressional leadership was not factored into this data, so it’s likely that Democrats Nancy Pelosi and Chuck Schumer could actually be worse to work for than any of the others. Even if their turnover rates aren’t higher, I imagine having to look at their faces and listen to their nonsense all day would make working for them on par with being Michael Moore’s gynecologist or a raw sewage taste tester.
One of the major reasons cited for these high employee turnover rates is low pay, which is some marquee liberal hypocrisy. Democrats are constantly bitching at every industry to pay it’s employees a living wage and yet they don’t even do it themselves. In the democrats’ defense, when they say people should do something, they never mean themselves.
LegiStorm offers some other possible reasons why these turnover rates are so high:
Offices with the most staff turnover might also include some of the worst bosses. Some members of Congress get a reputation for being hard to work for, whether due to anger management, shady ethics, poor pay, demanding too much or creating a toxic work environment.
Whatever the reason, the resulting office dysfunction can lead to high turnover, helping to make a member of Congress more ineffectual. One possible side-effect of high turnover is making an office less responsive to constituents while being more dependent on lobbyists for advice.
Democrats and the liberal media are always slamming President Trump for losing a lot of staff members, but he’s got nothing on Sheila Jackson Lee’s turnover rate. I wonder why you never see any stories on the Texas democrat’s staffing issues. probably because it would be racist or something.
The great news here is that Congressional democrats are finally #1 at something.
