In calling a black man the N-word to his face, one can reasonably expect a physical reaction. A gay man in Texas did just this and ended up getting his ass kicked, but somehow claims to be the victim of a hate crime. Making this story even crazier, the gay man is also black, so he expects us to believe that he is the victim of black-on-black racism. And again, he’s the one who was dropping N-bombs.
KFOX14 reports that Charles William Davis II (pictured) is a sergeant in the US Army and stationed at Fort Bliss in Texas. He is black and also gay. Late last month he and his “friend” Julio went to a bar in El Paso for drinks and whatever. When the bar closed, they called an Uber and while they waited he said 4 men began harassing them.
“We went a little further down the street to catch the Uber and these guys were following and heckling – pretty much just trying to start a fight. They kind of called me a faggot and, you know, cursed me out,” said Davis.
His story already sounds like a load of carp. How do you “pretty much” start a fight or “kind of” call someone a faggot? These questions are not answered, but the story gets even more unbelievable.
Davis said the 4 men got into a car and drove a couple of blocks way. Then, two more men approached Davis and Julio.
“They started asking me – inquiring about what happened, as if they were concerned or whatnot,” Davis aid.
Davis told the 2 men that he and Julio were just trying to get home and then called one the men, who was black, a n*gger. Why? I have no idea.
“My mistake was to use the N-word, but you know, it’s colloquial language, so the guy I was talking to was black. I’m black and I’ve never had a problem with another black guy getting upset in a very unprofessional environment,” said Davis.
With that, the black guy punched Davis, knocking him down. The two men fought with Davis and Julio and then all hell broke loose. Davis said the four original men came back and joined the fray.
“I went down and then his buddy jumped on me, both of them just started jumping me. Then the car that was up the street two blocks – they came back and those four guys jumped out of the vehicle and just started jumping me and Julio,” he said.
But wait, it was about to get worse. Davis says one of the men pulled out a weapon. What kind of weapon? A gun? A knife? Davis doesn’t know. he just knows it was a “weapon.”
“I don’t know what it was, but all I know is I reverted to pleading to him not to kill us,” said Davis.
This already unbelievable story was about to come to an unbelievable end.
“All of a sudden, this female comes out of nowhere and she asked those guys what they’re doing and they jumped back into their vehicle – all of them, like all six of them and then drove off,” Davis said.
To recap: 4 men kind of called Davis a faggot, then Davis called a helpful black man the N-word and suddenly 6 men wielding a weapon that can’t be described attacked them, only to be scared off by a mysterious woman.
I can’t say for a fact that this didn’t happen, but if it did it’s one of the most amazing things ever. Davis told police that he believes he was targeted for being gay, but they refused to list it as a hate crime, which maybe says something about the credibility of the story.
I think the big lesson here is that it’s probably a bad idea to call a black guy the N-word to his face, especially when he is trying to help.
