It really never ends with Hillary Clinton. It’s been almost two years since she blew the 2016 presidential election and she still bitching and moaning. She’s also not done blaming everyone but herself, but this time with a twist. She finally took credit for her election loss, but she says it’s only because she underestimated the racism and sexism in the country. Also, she’s still blaming James Comey.
Hillary did an interview with The Economist. She was asked how much sexism played a role in her election loss and she started with an answer that seemed like she was finally taking credit for running a shitty campaign:
“Obviously I am the person who lost and so I take responsibility for my campaign and for my candidacy, but…” said Hillary.
When you qualify any statement with a “but” you don’t mean what you are saying. “I support the 2nd Amendment, but” means you don’t support the 2nd Amendment. “I take full responsibility for my election loss, but” means you take no responsibility, and that’s exactly where Hillary was going. She really does feel like sexism kept her out of the White House.
“I don’t think there’s any doubt that sexism and misogyny, which are endemic in our society, were very much factors. They, in my view, were unleashed to an even greater extent than usual by Trump’s campaign, by him himself, by those who supported him,” Hillary said.
You see, according to Hillary, America is a very sexist and misogynist place, but Trump and his supporters unleashed even more of this which kept her from campaigning in important swing states like Michigan, Wisconsin, and Pennsylvania. Damn the sexism is some bad shit, huh?
Much of this interview was Hillary talking about how sexist America is and in fact, she actually said this:
“It is in my view somewhat easier for a woman to rise to the head of government in a parliamentary system,” said Hillary. “It’s a little more difficult in a presidential system.”
So our entire system of government is set up to keep women out of power? Wow, this chick is completely out of her mind.
Hillary then shifted to blaming race for her loss:
“I eked out a very narrow margin among white college-educated women. I won overwhelmingly with black women and Latina women, and I think there are several factors. I mean, one is I actually got more white women’s votes than Barack Obama did in 2012. So this is a problem for the Democratic Party and the Democratic nominee,” Hillary said.
So white people are racist against the Democratic Party? Apparently so:
“I knew what the history with Democratic nominees happened to be and how difficult it was to get white women’s vote,” she said.
And then came this:
“Forget about the white men’s vote! But I think I myself could have perhaps done a better job in reaching out and reassuring women and white voters in general,” Hillary said.
Now that’s a wining strategy. She’s saying to hell with white men, but that she should have done a better job pandering white women. Then again she’s also saying she should have done a better job with white people in general, which presumably means white men too. In other words, she has no idea what she’s talking about even two years after the fact.
Finally, after kind of saying she bore some responsibility for her election loss, she goes back to this tired old excuse that absolves her completely:
“I was on my way to winning…until Jim Comey’s letter, aided and abetted by the Russian WikiLeaks information weaponisation,” said Hillary.
That was a long way to go, but here’s Hillary’s opinion on her 2016 election loss: white women didn’t vote for her because they are sexist against a woman, white people didn’t vote for her because they are racist against a white person, and James Comey cost her the presidency by recommending she not be prosecuted for crimes she clearly committed. But yeah, she’s totally taking responsibility for that embarrassing election defeat.
