These are the kinds of people who are teaching your children. This is what you are sacrificing for so you child can get an education. A professor at the Missouri School of Journalism says that the NRA is more dangerous to Americans than ISIS. It’s disgusting enough that anyone would make this statement but thoroughly disturbing that someone this twisted is in charge of shaping young minds.
George Kennedy not only teaches journalism but also writes for the Missourian. For being a journalism professor, he sure seems incapable of writing a cohesive piece. He starts out by comparing a shooting in gun-controlled California with the Missouri State Legislature trying to expand gun rights. Somehow this apples-to-oranges comparison sets him off on the NRA, and boy does he go off.
Which organization is more dangerous to Americans — ISIS or the NRA?
As you know, ISIS is the acronym for The Islamic State of Iraq and Syria. It is a terrorist organization founded in 1999, headquartered in Syria and feared around the world.
The NRA is the acronym for the National Rifle Association, founded in 1871*, headquartered in Fairfax, Virginia, and feared by politicians across America.
What makes ISIS so feared is its willingness to kill in pursuit of its goal of creating a fundamentalist caliphate.
What makes the NRA so feared is its willingness to spend heavily and campaign aggressively in pursuit of its goal of removing all restrictions on the possession and use of firearms just about anywhere by just about anyone.
I’m sure you can guess who this liberal nitwit thinks is more dangerous, but here he is with what he claims are facts to back up his absurd position:
The gunviolencearchive.org website tells us that more than 15,000 Americans were killed by guns in 2016. Another 30,626 were injured. Of those killed or injured, 672 were children under the age of 12 and 3,117 were teenagers ages 13 to 17.
Euronews calculated some annual averages on U.S. soil since 9/11:
• Number of Americans killed each year by Islamic jihadist terrorists: 9
• Number of Americans killed each year by another American: 11,737
The odds of your being killed by a foreign-born terrorist are 1 in 45,808. The odds of your being killed by a gunshot are 1 in 358.
He doesn’t mention that most firearms deaths are suicides so if you don’t intend on killing yourself, your odds of being killed by a gunshot go way down.
38,000 people die in car accidents in the US every year and somehow this liberal nut doesn’t think AAA is to blame. 47,000 people die every year in the US from drug overdoses and he also doesn’t think the AMA is to blame. This professor’s statistics are completely meaningless.
The NRA is a civil rights organization that fights for our Constitutionally protected right to keep and bear arms. They don’t kill people nor do they work to put guns in the hands of killers or even advocate for dangerous people to be armed. In fact, they make sure we can all defend ourselves from dangerous people, killers, and even terrorists.
On the other hand, ISIS actually kills people. They behead infidels and set innocent people on fire. They rape women and slaughter little children. Their goal is not to ensure freedom for all people; they just want to impose their crazy-ass religious ideology and will kill to make that happen.
Just because more people commit suicide in the US than are beheaded by ISIS terrorists is a positively stupid comparison. All this proves is that we are doing a decent job of keeping jihadi scumbags out of the country.
If Kennedy wants to prove his theory that the NRA are more dangerous than ISIS there’s a pretty easy way for him to test it out. He could meet with the NRA and they will greet him in a friendly manner, reassuring him that they will continue to fight for his freedom. Then he could meet with ISIS and they will chop off his head and put it on a stick.
