Voter fraud? What voter fraud? That thing that liberals claim doesn’t exist happened in North Carolina again. The feds busted 20 non-citizens for illegally registering to vote and making false claims of citizenship. And yes, these ineligible voters did vote in elections (presumably for democrats). These vote fraudsters not only face jail time but also deportation. Don’t worry, the democrats are working really hard to get a whole new crop of non-citizen and illegal alien voters to make up for the loss of support.
Normally the left will say that voter fraud is nonexistent, but The Huffington Post had to reluctantly admit it happened. They have a twist on this story however, saying that yes these ineligible people voted, but it’s not a big deal and President Trump is cruel for prosecuting them:
One of Trump’s top federal prosecutors in North Carolina is going after noncitizen voters, and it could have dire consequences.
So once again we have a liberal narrative that enforcing existing law is inhumane, because Trump is the one enforcing it. It’s weird how that works out, huh?
Here’s the details of this latest crime against humanity:
The 20 immigrants recently charged with illegally voting in North Carolina in the 2016 election may not have even known they were ineligible, a HuffPost review of their cases and interviews with some of the defendants found. But they could still be convicted and imprisoned — or even deported ― without the Justice Department proving they intended to break the law.
Instances of illegal voting, including noncitizens casting ballots, are rare, and it’s uncommon for federal prosecutors to pursue such cases. The charges announced last week don’t involve any sort of conspiracy to steal an election. Instead, the indictments unveiled Friday underscore how confusion about voter registration can be prosecuted as illegal conduct even if it’s unclear whether the defendants understood they’d committed a crime.
Ignorance of the law is no excuse and neither is this:
Several of the defendants — most of whom are legal permanent residents of the United States — required interpreters at their hearings, raising the question of whether they knew that their status as noncitizens did not allow them to vote.
No, it actually raises the question: why are these people legal permanent residents of the United States if they can’t speak English?
One actual US citizen was also arrested and her story is unbelievable:
The sole U.S. citizen facing charges ― Denslo Allen Paige, a 66-year-old Walmart worker who lives in Raleigh ― told HuffPost she helped her boyfriend register in the weeks before the 2016 general election because he had been talking a lot about politics. Paige wasn’t sure if her boyfriend, a legal permanent resident, was eligible to vote, so when she filled out a voter registration form at an early voting site with him, she left the box asking about his citizenship blank. A copy of the form provided to HuffPost by the North Carolina State Board of Elections and Ethics Enforcement shows a checkmark in the “yes” box asking if the person is a U.S. citizen, but Paige insists she did not check it.
On Friday, federal prosecutors announced that Paige had been indicted for “aiding and abetting” her boyfriend’s false claim of citizenship so he could vote. If convicted, she faces up to five years in prison and a $250,000 fine. Her boyfriend, Guadalupe Espinosa-Peña, a 63-year-old immigrant from Mexico, faces up to six years in prison and a $350,000 fine for making a false claim of citizenship in addition to illegally voting.
“I really wasn’t sure. I’m an American. What in the heck do I know about foreigners?” Paige said.
Now wait for it…
Paige said she had served as a poll worker before…
This woman actually worked at a polling place and had no idea that her non-citizen boyfriend wasn’t allowed to vote? Bullshit.
Most of the non-citizen vote fraudsters have been charged with making a false claim of citizenship to register to vote and illegally voting, which are felonies. They don’t even have to be convicted of either crime to be deported because making a false claim of citizenship is enough to have someone’s permanent legal status yanked and their sorry asses booted from the country. Good.
Liberals are freaking out that Russian bots posting dumb things on social media is attacking the integrity of our elections and destroying our democracy. However when actual voter fraud is exposed, they don’t think it’s that big of deal. I have a feeling if people were fraudulently voting for Republicans they would have a different opinion on the matter.
