I thought about writing a sarcastic headline for this one but the fact that Obama is getting a “courage” award is comedic enough. The weakest leader this country has ever had is the antithesis of courage so honoring him with this is kind of like if Hillary Clinton won an award for being a winner. But hey, this is Obama were are talking about here and he’s used to unearned praise.
To go with his undeserved Nobel Peace Prize, his undeserved $65 million book deal, and his undesired presidency, Obama will undeservingly be given the JFK Profile in Courage Award. The criteria for winning this award are “grace under pressure” and “exceptional dignity and courage” making it even more ridiculous that Obama is getting this thing. If it was “golfing under pressure” and “exceptional dancing with Ellen Degeneres” sure, I could see it going to Obama, but come on.
Like everything else that Obama has gotten in his life, the rules needed to be bended a little to accommodate him. Usually the award is given for a definable act of courage, but since Obama doesn’t have any the John F. Kennedy Library Foundation committee chair Al Hunt says they’re giving it to Obama for an “entire life that was really a testament to courage.”
The there is this curious piece of information:
The decision to honor Obama, said Hunt, “had nothing to do with Trump’s election.”
If that were true, why even bring it up? I think this is basically an admission that Obama is getting the award to stick it to Donald Trump, as if that is even a thing. Clearly this is part of the left’s “Resistance” to the freely-elected President of the United States because he isn’t Hillary Clinton who they would have preferred.
Proving this is a complete farce, here’s Kennedy’s grandson Jack Schlossberg with some liberal delusion:
“President Obama has embodied the definition of courage that my grandfather cites in the opening lines of ‘Profiles in Courage’: grace under pressure. Throughout his two terms in office, he represented all Americans with decency, integrity, and an unshakeable commitment to the greater good,” said Schlossberg in a statement.
Geez, it’s only been a month and a half, how can people forget so quickly what a truly horrible president Obama was? He has never exhibited grace under any circumstance, let alone pressure. When the going got tough, Obama hit the golf course and deflected blame on George W. Bush and the “do-nothing” Republicans in Congress.
I guess you could say he represented all Americans with the exception of white people, the working and middle classes, gun owners, Christians, straight people, and veterans or as I like to call them: almost everyone in the country. He was indecisive, ineffectual, and most of all divisive. He played identity politics and divided this nation along racial, religious, social, and economic lines.
As for the “courage” thing? He sat on all of his courageous progressive ideas until his second term when he didn’t need to worry about reelection. Where I come from, we call that being a chickenshit.
Obama has neither earned nor deserved anything he has ever gotten and this award is no different. If his trajectory holds steady, he should soon be appointed Pope and then Emperor of the Universe. He already thinks these things about himself, but he’ll enjoy when it is official.
