Since the November election we have been bombarded with tales of Trump supporters attacking minorities in horrific hate crimes. They have almost all been proven to be hoaxes and the liberal media has chosen to completely ignore the minority-on-Trump supporter violence that is very real. Occasionally a real act of violence against a minority comes along, but it still doesn’t quite fit the liberal narrative that they are the victims of white supremacists. In LA a Korean is charged with a hate crime assault against another Korean.
A 22-year-old Korean national with no address in Los Angeles has been charged with attempted murder and a hate crime enhancement in a hammer attack on woman in Koreatown, police said Thursday.
The 24-year-old victim was also Korean, according to Los Angeles Police Department Capt. David Kowalski.
The suspect, Jae Won Yang, was charged Tuesday, police announced at an afternoon news conference.
Don’t get me wrong, this was a horrible crime, but a hate crime?
The attacker approached her, asked in Korean if she was Korean, and then walked away, the captain said. He returned with a hammer and, without a word, began to strike her on the head.
The attack was captured on surveillance video. A witness told KTLA the woman was struck more than 20 times.
The victim, who did not know the attacker, was hospitalized with serious injuries.
I have actually covered an Asian-on-Asian hate crime before, but in that case it was a Korean attacking Chinese women. This is Korean-on-Korean and not even North Korean versus South Korean. Again, this was a f*cked up crime, but I fail to see the hate motivating it. If a white guy hates another white guy and attacks him, that ain’t a hate crime.
Not only does this case point out the ridiculousness of the application of hate crime laws, it surprisingly shows how broken our immigration system is:
Police have contacted the South Korean consulate about the case. Yang was “fairly new to the United States,” Kowalski said. Police have classified him as “homeless” and lacking a Los Angeles address…
Why exactly did we let this lunatic in the country if he was just going to be a homeless bum? Shouldn’t there be some sort of thing that says before we let you in that you have to prove you will be working or going to school and can support yourself? We just let this guy in so it’s not like he had his shit together and then became a bum; he came here to be a bum.
We live in a day and age where a mob of black people can attack a white person while screaming racial slurs and the cops not only won’t call it a hate crime but also won’t investigate or make arrests. Yet somehow a Korean attacks another Korean without uttering a hateful word and it’s labeled a hate crime instantly. Am I the only one who sees a problem with this?
