Yesterday 25-year-old Alek Minassian killed 10 and injured 15 others with a rented van in Toronto. Police don’t have a motive yet, and many have suspected Islamic terrorism which I’m not ready to abandon yet, but there appears to be something else going on. Minassian was a member of a group called Incel, which is short for “involuntarily celibate.” Think of it like Antifa for men who haven’t been with a woman. Okay, bad analogy, but this guy was a radicalized virgin.
Fox News reports that prior to the van attack, Minassian posted this weird thing on Facebook:
“The Incel rebellion has already begun! We will overthrow all of the Chads and Stacys! All hail Supreme Gentleman Elliot Roger!” Minassian wrote.
Elliot Roger was the sexual frustrated lunatic who went on a shooting spree in Isla Vista, California and allegedly targeted women because they wouldn’t date him. “Chads” are dudes who have had sex with women and “Stacys” are women who reject men like Minassian.
Here’s a little primer on the Incel movement:
What are ‘incels’?
While the group is supposed to be a “support group” for men who have not been intimate with a woman, some of the more popular posts on the subreddit were sinister in nature, including the ones titled: “All women are sluts” and “Reasons why women are the embodiment of evil.”
A still-active incel message board describes members of the group as “Involuntary Celibate, a person who, if you take the term literally, can’t have sex despite wanting to. In practice, this goes beyond just sex and into the realm of having no possibility of finding a partner to get validation, love and acceptance from. Sex is mostly secundary [sic], though a minority of incels may disagree.”
The forum’s rules prohibit inciting violence, but some posts appear to advocate for rape for those who have not yet had sex and list step-by-step instructions for a “full proof plan” on how to do so.
Incels in the subreddit also advocated for rape or called the crime a “made-up construct,”
While the Reddit group did not ban women from the message board, it reportedly encouraged females not to join it because their experiences are different, the group said.
Women are called “femoids” or “female human organisms” by incel members.
These people sound fun. Weirdly enough, a woman actually started Incel:
In 2016, a woman identified as Alana told Elle magazine that she accidentally created what would become known as an “incel” group. The Toronto woman said she created a now-defunct website called “Alana’s Involuntary Celibacy Project” in 1993 when she was in college and was curious about the fact she had never had sex.
Hey, the guys who started MS-13 formed it as a club for heavy metal fans and somehow that morphed into face tattoos and decapitations. Sometimes things just get away from their original purpose.
If it is true that Minassian killed 10 people because he was frustrated over his virginity, liberals are going to have a field day. They may not be able to use this mass killing as a call for more gun control (though they have), but they can sure as shit can come down hard on “toxic masculinity.” Since this happened in Canada, where people don’t have a lot of rights, look for some crazy restrictions on being a man like perhaps a penis tax.
