What are the chances? The two things that liberals claim make Donald Trump a racist will soon be meeting in a courtroom. The so-called Mexican-heritage judge that Trump slammed for ruling against him in a lawsuit will preside over a case involving a deported illegal alien DREAMer. The conflict of interest is almost as big as the happenstance.
If you remember, U.S. District Judge Gonzalo Curiel ruled against Trump in case involving his Trump University. Trump pointed out that Curiel is of Mexican heritage and because Trump was running on a tough-on-illegal-immigration platform that it was impossible for the judge to remain impartial in the case. The liberals, especially Hillary Clinton seized on this as evidence that Trump is the most racist person who ever lived.
As it turns out, Judge Curiel has connections to the radical racist group La Raza, but for some reason Trump is the racist for suggesting he may hold bias against someone who wants to enforce our nation’s immigration laws. That’s just how liberals roll, ignoring facts in favor of a good false narrative.
And speaking of things that make Trump racist, the liberals also jumped on his line that some illegal aliens are rapist and criminals. Again, this is true, but the left couldn’t find any real racism with Trump so they pounced on this as the smoking gun evidence. In keeping with that bullshit, they have continued to call him racist for deporting criminal illegal aliens now that he is President.
Which brings us to the other part of this. Juan Manuel Montes is an illegal alien DREAMer, one of the nearly 1 million who applied for Obama’s Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) program. Under this stupid executive order, illegal aliens who were brought to the US as children could qualify for work permits and exemption from deportation.
Well, Montes was deported and the liberals are crying foul. They don’t seem to understand that Montes left the US without permission and then was caught sneaking back in. This instantly nullifies his DACA status. He also apparently has some criminal convictions, which again makes him deportable.
Montes is suing to be allowed to come back into the US and as fate would have it, Mexican heritage Judge Curiel will decide the case.
According to USA Today this judge assignment is completely random act of a crazy universe:
Curiel’s assignment to the case was completely coincidental, according to rules for the Southern District of California. Kari Hong, an assistant professor at Boston College Law School who used to be an attorney in California, said judges are selected based on a rotating schedule. The court sets up a list of available judges and they are assigned each case as they come in.
But what about the obvious conflict of interest here?
Hong said judges regularly recuse themselves from cases if there is a conflict of interest, the appearance of a conflict of interest or if the judge has a financial stake in the outcome of the case. She said it’s highly unlikely Curiel would recuse himself based solely on the derogatory comments Trump made about him.
Conflict of interest doesn’t only involve finances, there’s also ideological and personal conflicts. Trump’s beef with Judge Curiel was huge news and a major platform for the presidential race. Regardless of whether to not Curiel is an impartial judge, there is certainly the appearance of bias in this case. He is basically deciding if Trump’s immigration policies are legal or not.
Plus, let’s get real here. This is a liberal activist judge with ties to a pro-illegal immigration group. Is there any doubt how he is going to rule in the case of an illegal alien being deported?
