The only thing that outweighs the entertainment industry’s sense of self-importance is their lack of self-awareness. Daughter-Marrying child-molesting Woody Allen thinks he would be the perfect poster boy for the #MeToo movement, which is a reaction to the epidemic of sexual misconduct, primarily in the entertainment industry. This is worse than fatass Oprah Winfrey being a spokesperson for Weight Watchers or Motley Crue’s Vince Neil doing anti-drunk driving ads.
Allen did an interview on Argentinian TV and was asked about the #MeToo movement.
“I feel when they find people who harass innocent women and men, it’s a good thing that they’re exposing them,” said Allen.
He of course doesn’t mean himself, in fact…
“But you know I, I should be the poster boy for the #MeToo movement. Because I have worked in movies for 50 years. I’ve worked with hundreds of actresses and not a single one — big ones, famous ones, ones starting out — have ever ever suggested any kind of impropriety at all. I’ve always had a wonderful record with them,” Allen said.
Well, he is married to his daughter and began a sexual relationship with her before she was an adult. Then there is Allen’s other kid, Dylan Farrow who has accused the director of molesting her when she was 7.
See what Allen is doing here is trying to skate by on a technicality. He said no actresses he has worked with have accused him of sexual misconduct, not his own children.
The reason why Allen feels like he should be the poster boy for the #MeToo movement is because he’s tired of being mentioned in the same breath as scumbags like Harvey Weinstein.
I am assuming the Spanish-speaking interviewer said something like, “What about that time you molested your daughter, you dirty old man?”
“People who have been accused by 20 women, 50 women, 100 women of abuse and abuse and abuse – and I, who was only accused by one woman in a child custody case which was looked at and proven to be untrue, I get lumped in with these people,” said Allen.
Yeah, but that one accuser is Allen’s 7 year-old daughter. In reality, pinching a grown woman’s butt is not nearly as bad as molesting a child. Allen’s argument is that since he’s only been accused of one or two incidents of sexual predation that he’s not nearly the monster Harvey Weinstein is. Actually, his argument is that since he only sexually assaulted members of his family he should be the face of the anti-sexual harassment movement.
Woody was very upset that anyone would dare talk about his fathering skills:
“This is something that has been thoroughly looked at 25 years ago by all the authorities and everybody came to the conclusion that it was untrue. And that was the end and I’ve gone on with my life. For it to come back now, it’s a terrible thing to accuse a person of. I’m a man with a family and my own children. So of course it’s upsetting,” Allen said.
This is another curious argument from Allen. He’s trying to say now that he has other children with his daughter/wife Soon-Yi that anything he did to his previous children shouldn’t matter any more. That ain’t how it works.
The sad thing is, Hollywood is so screwed up they may actually promote Woody Allen as the poster boy for #MeToo. This is an industry completely lacking in morality.
