Hey, who ever thought the state of Ohio could generate controversy by passing a bill that makes it a felony to kill someone with a heartbeat?
Perhaps the good folks in the Ohio legislature misunderestimated the extent of left-wing extremism that infests much of the modern day Democratic party.
The Ohio House passed a bill that would ban abortions as soon as a fetal heartbeat is detectable. That could be as early as six weeks.
Of course, the idea of preserving fetal life infringes on a woman’s right to choose!!11!1!! Therefore, the typically uptight scolds who pledge allegiance to feminism before the American flag have slithered out of their holes to let everyone know how much they hate human life and this proposal.
House Bill 69 (that number should have been reserved for a gay rights measure) does make an exception for the life of the mother, but it does not make an exception for the health of the mother or in the case of rape or incest. That’s why some people are saying it is too extreme.
There is no indication that the Ohio Senate will take up the bill.
However, there is another pro-life bill working its way through the Ohio legislature. That proposal would ban abortions after 20 weeks. Proponents think it has a better shot of becoming law than the so-called Heartbeat Bill.
