George Will made an appearance on the Special Report All Star Panel tonight to discuss the ongoing crisis in the Ukraine. During the discussion, Will analyzed the larger picture of the President’s foreign policy vision.
“Well, announcing expectations is all very well but I’m not sure who’s impressed by it,” Will said, referring to the President’s anemic warning to the Ukraine government. “What we’re seeing in the Ukraine, what we’ve seen in Syria, and what we’ll see again in Iran is the complete failure of what I think was the centerpiece of the President’s foreign policy, that is, the reset of relations with Russia.”
“They’re not helpful with regard to Iran,” he continued. “They’re positively pernicious in Syria. And Putin is obviously bolstering the government in Ukraine. The question the is: what are we getting? Is this completely sterile policy? I don’t know what the word ‘reset’ was supposed to mean. But I know that I can’t see any evidence that it’s helped.”
