Syndicated columnist Charles Krauthammer appeared on the Special Report All Star panel last night to discuss Susan Rice’s foreign policy speech. He said that she is right about one thing.
During her Friday speech at the Brookings Institution, Rice said that the United States doesn’t face an “existential” threat as it did during World War II.
“Yes, it’s not World War II,” he said. “It’s the thirties. It’s not the forties.”
“What we have is a threat spreading and growing around the world of which this administration either doesn’t recognize the threat or doesn’t want to admit it. It’s pretending it doesn’t exist and will not even actually name it,” he said.
Krauthammer also brought Iran into the discussion.
“And at the same time, [the administration is] negotiating a deal with Iran that everybody who’s looked at it knows has already conceded that Iran will be a threshold nuclear state… There’s only one reason for Iran to need an ICBM: to hit another continent, to hit the United States,” he said.
