While ‘America’s most trusted name in news’ was spinning to deflect from the Project Veritas release of hundreds of hours of leaked internal audio, a significant piece of news flew under the radar.
CNN has announced that it was providing a prime-time forum to the two Republicans in the Senate who are the key drivers in the drive to topple President Donald Trump.
John McCain and Lindsey Graham will appear in a nationally televised town hall where they will all but certainly try to close the deal on Senate hearings over Trump’s alleged ties to the Kremlin.
The Hill reports “CNN to host town hall featuring John McCain, Lindsey Graham”:
For its sixth political town hall of 2017, CNN will host Sens. John McCain (R-Ariz.) and Lindsey Graham (R-S.C.) on Wednesday, Mar. 1 at 9 p.m. ET.
The McCain-Graham event is scheduled for the day after President Trump’s first address to a joint session of Congress.
CNN chief political correspondent Dana Bash will moderate it before a live studio audience at George Washington University in Washington, D.C.
“McCain, Senate Armed Services Chair, and Graham, Chairman of the Senate Subcommittee on Crime and Terrorism, will discuss key issues facing the country including America’s place on the world stage, U.S. Russian policy, immigration and other national security issues facing Americans at home,” the network said in its announcement.
McCain has been particularly critical of Trump in recent days, with the 2008 GOP nominee telling NBC’s Chuck Todd last week that the president’s attempt of “suppressing free press” is “how dictators get started.”

clown hall town hall is due to air the day after Trump’s joint address to Congress is pretty much a dead giveaway that the opposition media is providing equal time for the shadow government.
It continues to be absolutely amazing that McCain and Graham are able to continually circumvent the White House on U.S. foreign and internal security policy and are given an unprecedented forum to take their case against Trump directly to the people.
Never mind that CNN’s viewership isn’t what it used to be, the important thing is that their anti-Trump message will be launched there and will be picked up and amplified by the media echo chamber over the entire weekend news cycle.
