A tragic story out of Memphis, TN shows how guns and thugs without a lick of common sense are rarely a good mixture.
A one-year-old girl was shot by her three-year-old brother using a firearm that was left lying around in a location where there were children by an irresponsible social miscreant who probably should have been incarcerated in the first place.
25-year-old Shawn Moore was arrested and charged with criminally negligent homicide, being a convicted felon in possession of a handgun and tampering with evidence after Robin Keefer was killed by her brother while she laid in bed.
The punk was visiting the infant’s mother when he reportedly took out his gun and forgot about it before the older child picked it up and busted a cap into his baby sister.

According to the Memphis Commercial-Appeal “1-year-old shot by 3-year-old sibling, man charged”:
A 3-year-old sibling pulled the trigger in the shooting death of 1-year-old Robin Keefer, Memphis police said on Saturday.
Police have arrested 25-year-old Shawn Moore, who is accused of placing his gun on a bed within reach of the 3-year-old. The shooting happened around 7:30 a.m. Friday in the 3500 block of South Mendenhall.
According to an affidavit, Moore said he put the gun down and forgot it was there. He heard the gunshot and the mother shouting the 3-year-old’s name.
“It was determined that Robin Keefer was actually shot by her 3-year-old sibling with Moore’s firearm,” police said.
According to an affidavit, officers found the child lying in a rear bedroom. She appeared to have been shot in the head.
Robin was transported in critical condition to Le Bonheur Children’s Hospital, where she died.
Her mother said she saw Moore armed with a pistol and asked why he had it. Moore responded that he needed it for protection. The mother said that Moore was sitting on the side of her bed when she lay Robin down, and that she heard a gunshot but did not see who fired the gun.
Moore later turned himself in at the Mount Moriah precinct and told officers that the weapon that killed Robin was in his backpack. A S&W 40 caliber pistol with a magazine and a spent shell casing stuck in the chamber was recovered. Moore was charged with criminally negligent homicide, being a convicted felon in possession of a handgun, and tampering with evidence.
It has not been reported whether the forgetful thug is actually the baby daddy but the little girl’s grieving mother probably rues the day that she met him.
