Democrat Senator Cory Booker has swatted down long-whispered rumors that he is a homosexual that have dogged him since his days as the mayor of Newark.
Enthusiasm for the New Jersey Dem has been on the wane after a series of emotional outbursts during the confirmation hearings of President Trump’s nominees as well as video of him suggesting that followers engage in confrontation with Republicans.
Once thought of as a new and improved version of Barack Obama, Booker’s presidential aspirations have taken a hit with him an early poll by the Des Moines Register showing him pulling a miserable 4 percent in advance of February’s critical caucuses.

Sen. Cory Booker (D-N.J.) addressed rumors about his sexuality in a recent interview, telling The Philadelphia Inquirer that he is straight.
“I’m heterosexual,” Booker told the newspaper. ”Every candidate should run on their authentic self, tell their truth, and more importantly, or mostly importantly, talk about their vision for the country.”
Past political opponents of Booker have attempted to question his sexuality, according to the Inquirer. Booker is considering a bid for the Democratic nomination for president in 2020.
Booker also told the Inquirer that he is going to discuss his possible presidential bid with his family over the holidays.
“I have a pause during the holidays which is going to be a really great time to meet with family and friends and really start to put some focus on whether to run for president or not,” he said. Booker didn’t specify when he expected to make a final decision, according to the Inquirer.
The New Jersey senator also told the newspaper that he’s “going to run on who I am,” whether he runs for president or reelection to the Senate.
Ironically, Booker may have just hurt his chances the party base who are motivated by identity politics and being black and gay could have been a tremendous boost for Obama v.2.
