With the war on Roy Moore raging on, an underlying subtext has been largely ignored and it is one that has serious ramifications for the democratic system itself.
That is do the people of Alabama have the right to elect their own representatives? For that matter, does any American have that right anymore?
In the last year, America has seen an alarming idea take root and begin to grow. That is that the will of the people can be nullified if the establishment disagrees with who they choose as leaders. This has been evident with the ongoing soft coup against President Trump that is now in the hands of jackleg sneak Robert Mueller who will produce “evidence” that triggers impeachment proceedings.
Now we are seeing the same principle in action where Judge Moore who is a local legend in Alabama has been convicted in the media over a Washington Post story bandying about four-decade-old claims from several women that he sexually assaulted them.
Despite the WAPO’s lack of objectivity – anti-Trump, all of the time – Republican elites who were a part of the Never Trump movement have demanded that Moore step down without so much as a trial. The lack of regard to rights of the citizens of Alabama is as stunning as it is flagrant and is indicative of a dark fascistic impulse that has only recently begun to seep out in public.
On Monday, Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell who backed Moore’s primary opponent Luther Strange – as well as having his super PAC drop millions to influence the race in his favor – came out and declared that he believed the women in the WAPO piece and Moore needed to bow to his will and quit.
Other establishment Republicans have joined McConnell including Jeb Bush, John Kasich, John McCain, Mitt Romney and now even Ted Cruz who suggested that Moore should be criminally prosecuted over child molestation.

That all of these clowns have leveled criticism at countries like Russia and others for subverting democracy while they are engaging in exactly that right here in America is never even mentioned by a corrupt media that spreads the message and that message is that the voters in Alabama are ignorant hicks and rubes who have no right to vote on who they damned well please.

Politico is promoting the results of a new poll that shows “voters” believe the Washington Post hit piece against Moore and a majority wants him to drop out of the race.

A new Politico/Morning Consult poll shows voters nationally find the allegations against Alabama Republican Senate nominee Roy Moore credible — and a majority thinks Moore should drop out of the race.
The poll — which was conducted prior to the most recent allegations against Moore leveled by Beverly Young Nelson, who said Monday that Moore sexually assaulted her when she was 16 years old — found 59 percent of voters say they considered the original allegations against Moore outlined in a Washington Post article last week very or somewhat credible. Just 17 percent say the allegations are not too credible or not credible at all. The remaining 23 percent don’t know or have no opinion.
There are partisan differences in national views of the Moore allegations, but even among Republican voters, more find the allegations credible than not. Nearly half of GOP voters, 49 percent, say the accusations against Moore are at least somewhat credible; just three-in-10 say they are not too credible or not credible at all.

However, the Politico/Morning Consult poll is a national poll instead of one that was solely conducted in the only state that matters – Alabama. It will be used to support the calls for Moore’s ouster
If the Washington elite has no qualms in disenfranchising the 63 million Russian spies American voters who elected Donald Trump to the presidency they have even fewer with several hundred thousand in Alabama.
Even if Moore does manage to make it to the election, GOP officials are already scheming to have the results rendered null and void and a new special election called – on in which Strange will be their only real choice.
This is exactly how it works in dictatorships – at least before the armed goons and paramilitary thugs are sent to the polls.
As former President Ronald Reagan once said:
“Freedom is never more than one generation away from extinction. We didn’t pass it to our children in the bloodstream. It must be fought for, protected, and handed on for them to do the same, or one day we will spend our sunset years telling our children and our children’s children what it was once like in the United States where men were free.”
That day is coming if the establishment is able to overturn legitimate elections based on “evidence” that would fit perfectly into a Stalinist Soviet show trial.
