Step aside Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, there is a new wearer of the crown for the “future” of the Democratic party and it isn’t you.
Less than a year after the chattering nitwit socialist bartender managed to stun the political world by unexpectedly winning the Democratic primary in New York’s 14th congressional district and being feted by the media as a modern-day Cinderella story, AOC’s coach has turned back into a pumpkin.
While the thin-skinned Twitter diva was quickly hailed as the party’s “future” by DNC Chairman Tom Perez and others, her narcissistic nuttiness and vicious demeanor (not to mention her aversion to the truth) has made the 29-year-old taco bar revolutionary into yesterday’s news and ironically, the victim of that white privilege that she and other identity-obsessed leftists have constantly yammered about.
Move over AOC and cede the stage to Pete Buttigieg aka “Mayor Pete” whose gayness has captured the hearts and minds of the media who have drooled so much over the mayor of South Bend, IN that they may have to start wearing hip waders.
The latest to anoint “Mayor Pete” as the white-skinned future of Democrats? That would be MSNBC’s “Morning” Joe Scarborough who still is the answer to the trivia question of which sitting GOP congressman once had a dead intern found in his office.
The bespectacled boob invoked sweeping historical language in his praise of “Boot Edge Edge” whose profile has been boosted by a media/entertainment industry in which homosexuality is overrepresented in demographic terms as related to the rest of America and who see one of their own in the White House as the greatest thing that could ever happen.
According to Morning Joe:
Well, the reaction to Mayor Pete has been remarkable, especially for a nation that has learned to become very cynical of politicians of all stripes. But you could see the response on Twitter, you could see the response — hear the response from friends and neighbors, just like after his announcement. And it’s quite unlike anything that I know that you and I have ever seen.
You know, as you know, Mika, I only can tell three kinds of stories. They’re either baseball stories, Winston Churchill stories, or rock ‘n’ roll stories. And looking at Mayor Pete last night, and once again seeing this remarkable response, I was reminded of one of the most famous lines by any rock critic in music history and that line was, “I have seen the future of rock ‘n’ roll, and it is Bruce Springsteen.” Jon Landau wrote that. Pretty smart guy to write that in ’73, ’74.
Well, I have seen the future of the Democratic party and its Mayor Pete. It may not be in 2020.
Perhaps it’s in 2024 or beyond, but this guy is going to play an important role in the mainstreaming, the mainstreaming of the Democratic Party for many years to come. And believe you me, that is exactly what he does. Regardless of ideology, Mayor Pete mainstreams a Democratic Party, much in the same way Nancy Pelosi fights every day to make sure that her House caucus does the same and that Joe Biden’s doing on the campaign trail today.
Coming from the same media that said that Hillary was a sure thing, that doesn’t bode well for Buttigieg who may not be as popular in the mocked “flyover states” as he is with the coastal elite.
