Only six months out from the critical midterm elections, the Democrats still do not have a coherent issue to run on besides impeaching President Trump and granting amnesty to DACA Dreamers.
Following their crushing defeat in the 2016 election and the sinking of Queen Hillary the inevitable, the opposition party has been gripped by a blind fury, the embracing of conspiracy theories and a messianic mission to avenge Hillary at all costs.
The rabble of the base has been so riled up over the irresponsible rhetoric of the party that nothing short of impeachment of Trump will placate them but the wasting of 18 months that could have been better spent on coming up with appealing solutions to problems could come back to haunt Dems in November.
An article in The Hill highlights their dilemma and all but ensures that when the party finally implodes that the inscription on the tombstone will read: Death By Pelosi.

Via The Hill “Dems look to decide on midterm message”:
And Pelosi on Tuesday named four items on her wish list: infrastructure, campaign finance reform, tougher gun restrictions and help for the Dreamers — immigrants brought to the country illegally when they were children. She noted that Democrats have been urging Speaker Paul Ryan (R-Wis.) to take up all those issues before the elections.
“We’d be hard put to call on the Speaker to do it, and then when we win, not do it,” Pelosi said.
For Democratic leaders, the competition over ideas has been heightened by the changes in the cultural, media and electoral landscape in the 12 years since they last took control of the House.
The minority caucuses have all grown in number and stature within the party; women now constitute roughly a third of the caucus; and the rise of President Trump — combined with the outcry he’s sparked among Democrats — has only intensified the urgency surrounding their success in the midterms.
Yep, gun restrictions and allowing the country to be flooded by illegal aliens are real winners – in California.
But while the leadership hems and haws, Pelosi seems to have guaranteed that one issue has already been settled on – raising taxes.

From all of the facial tics, mangled syntax and other brain farts it’s pretty obvious that Nancy Pelosi is senile and needs to be packed off to the attic like the party’s crazy aunt. Other than Stormy Daniels, she is the face of the modern Democratic party and her burden on it is getting to the point where even some reliable allies are starting to point out the proverbial elephant in the room.

Analysis: Nancy Pelosi keeps gift-wrapping talking points for the GOP https://t.co/lzw10Qgo5N

According to the WaPo “Nancy Pelosi keeps giving the GOP talking points”:
Nancy Pelosi clearly wants to be speaker again, and she’s on the cusp of reclaiming that perch. But someone may be standing in her way: Nancy Pelosi.
First it was her repeated admonitions that the GOP’s tax cuts amounted to “crumbs” for the middle class — a talking point that has clearly given her Democratic colleagues agita because of its elitist overtones. “Language is important, and we have to be very careful that we don’t insult people by saying that the amount of money they get is crumbs,” one of them, Rep. Emanuel Cleaver II (D-Mo.), told Politico. “We cannot be seen as patricians.”
Pelosi also recently reiterated that she will seek to become speaker again, despite the increasing number of Democrats running for office who say they wouldn’t vote for her. “We will win. I will run for speaker,” she told the Boston Globe’s editorial board last week. “I feel confident about it. And my members do, too.” That wasn’t surprising — nobody thought Pelosi would stick around this long after losing the speakership only to retire once her party won back the majority — but Pelosi’s promise made that likelihood into a certainty and put further pressure on Democrats to pick a side.
And finally came Tuesday morning. Appearing at a Politico event, Pelosi was asked to respond to GOP talking points that a Speaker Pelosi would institute single-payer health care and “raise taxes” by moving to “roll back the tax cuts that they passed this year.” Pelosi’s response: “The second part there is accurate.” So there is Pelosi — on video — appearing to confirm she would try to raise taxes if Democrats win back the majority.
It was as if granny let slip an unpleasant burst of flatulence but it could be big trouble if even the Washington Post is no longer able to simply hold their noses.
Just keep talking Nancy.
