With the city of Berkeley about to be hit by an ANTIFA invasion to shut down speeches by conservatives including Steve Bannon, Ben Shapiro and Milo Yiannopoulous, officials have stepped up to the plate and taken some restraints off of law enforcement.
On Tuesday, the Berkeley city council voted to allow police to use pepper spray as a deterrent against those who resort to violence and there will be plenty of the masked marauders doing exactly that in September.
Conservative Ben Shapiro is scheduled to speak on Thursday and there will be a “Free Speech Week” event featuring Steve Bannon, Milo Yiannopoulos and Ann Coulter, it will be heavily attended by ANTIFA and other anti-First Amendment extremists seeking to deprive conservatives of their right to free speech.

The city council in Berkeley, Calif. on Tuesday voted to let police use pepper spray on protesters who become violent.
The decision gives police the option to use pepper spray to prevent attacks on themselves and others, according to The Associated Press.
Police are still barred from using pepper spray as a “crowd control technique to disperse a crowd or move a crowd,” the council motion says, the news service reported.
“Police may use pepper spray upon specific individuals within a crowd who are committing acts of violence upon police or others,” the motion said.
Police in the city have been barred from using pepper spray to control crowds since 1997, Berkeley Police Chief Andrew Greenwood said. He argued that pepper spray is a better option than other methods that have been used to control violent crowds, such as batons or tear gas.
The vote comes ahead of a speech scheduled for later this week by former Breitbart editor Ben Shapiro at the University of California, Berkeley.
A “Free Speech Week” at the university is scheduled to take place later this month, featuring former White House chief strategist Stephen Bannon, Milo Yiannopoulos and Ann Coulter.
The event is likely to draw huge protests.
This is a really big deal for Berkeley but the ugliness that erupted when black-clad thugs showed up in great numbers and attacked peaceful free speech advocates in August made it impossible for some on the left to continue to turn their heads.
When even Nancy Pelosi was forced to denounce ANTIFA for their violence it marked a turning point in how the fascist scum would be dealt with going forward.
Pepper spray is a bit too lenient for many – including this humble author – who feel that now is the time for a serious show of force against anti-American goons who are engaging in tactics that could only be described as domestic terrorism.
But it’s a start.
