Georgia gubernatorial candidate Stacey Abrams ran one of the most demagogic race-baiting campaigns in the Peach State’s long and illustrious history but in the end, she wasn’t able to parlay her national media presence into a win in a state that is still deeply conservative.
Among Abrams’ ideas were such leftist wet dreams as gun confiscation, voting rights for illegal aliens, reparations and blasting the Confederate figures off of the Stone Mountain Monument but she lost out to sitting Georgia Secretary Of State Brian Kemp who was endorsed by President Trump.
Kemp also opened an investigation into Democrat activists hacking the election systems in favor of Abrams because hey, when you cant’ beat em, cheat em.
So while she has lost the election, like any good flag-burning extremist, she is refusing to go quietly into the good night and will not concede to Kemp and is calling for a runoff election
As Election Day gave way to the early morning hours Wednesday, the bruising, often bitter race to become Georgia’s next governor continued to defy a ready resolution. With nearly all votes counted, Georgia Secretary of State Brian Kemp enjoyed a slim lead — but his defiant Democratic opponent, former state lawmaker Stacey Abrams, has vowed to push on in hopes of a runoff election.
The state’s electoral rules require a candidate to garner a majority to win the governorship. If neither nominee manages to win more than 50 percent — and with Libertarian Ted Metz also on the ballot, that remains a possibility — Kemp and Abrams would need to square off again in a new round of voting.
She addressed her supporters early Wednesday morning, in a speech far more characteristic of a campaign than a concession.
“We believe our chance for a stronger Georgia is just within reach, but we cannot seize it until all voices are heard,” she added. “And I promise you tonight, we’re going to make sure that every vote is counted. Every single vote.”
She is yet another perfect example of how today’s Democrats no longer respect the legitimate process of elections and she is prepared to burn Atlanta down anew if she doesn’t get her way.
