An otherwise picturesque weekend day during which the city of San Francisco honored a very special demographic for their unique influence on society and culture was marred when an ugly brawl erupted at a concert to commemorate Pride Day.
Partiers who were waiting to partake in the revelry at a concert by singer/rapper Kehlani had their safe space violated when several scantily clad women (one would imagine lesbians) got into a spat that quickly devolved into an ugly catfight. It was broken up before anyone was seriously injured but not before it was captured on a video that is now going viral.

According to SF Gate, “Video shows large brawl at San Francisco Pride fest over Kehlani question”:
A simple question about Kehlani’s set time apparently turned into a sprawling and violent street fight among at least a dozen people during San Francisco’s Pride Festival, according to a video of the altercation and a witness.
Navdeep Thind, a student at Diablo Valley College, said he was vlogging around 1 p.m. on Sunday near where Kehlani was supposed to perform at Civic Center, when he noticed a crowd of people gathered around a group of women. The women were kicking each other, banging others’ heads into the cement, and screaming.
“It got kind of brutal,” he said. “People were saying it was like some WWE stuff, and it really was. You saw some heads hitting the cement.”
Thind posted the video later that evening to his personal Twitter account. Within hours it went viral. As of Monday evening, it had received more than 5,529 retweets and 9,269 likes.
From the video, it’s not clear how the fight started, but Thind said he gathered through conversations with the perpetrators’ friends and through Twitter threads that it began with a question from one woman to another about Kehlani’s set.
“I guess one girl asked the other girl if Kehlani was performing,” Thind said. “And I guess the other girl said, ‘Yeah, she is,’ but I guess she said it very rudely or angrily and called her a bitch. That triggered the other girl to say something like, ‘Did you just call me a bitch?’ And that started their argument.”
Thind said the fight went on for around 7 minutes before he saw officials separate the women and escort them away from the area.

No arrests were made but the mood was clearly disrupted with many celebrants bemoaning that such an incident that could occur on a day for peace and love.
The concert had problems too and Kehlani cut the set short due to the mic being cut well before she wrapped it up spurring the following rant from the artist according to the website Hot New Hip Hop (HNHH):
Kehlani’s headlining performance at San Francisco Pride was cut five songs early Sunday night, and the singer has expressed frustration over how the concert was handled. “san francisco pride just cut our sound system and mic off half way through my set with 5 more songs to perform,” she wrote on Twitter. “i love you bay area, but fuck that shit man.”
Kehlani’s mic was cut as she performed “What I Need” with special guest Hayley Kiyoko, as can be seen in a clip filmed by a fan. According to the singer, it was due to noise curfews in the city, but it didn’t excuse the fact that she was put on 30 minutes late, despite being ready hours ahead of time. “SF Pride staff been rude all day. didn’t expect any of this. don’t wanna cause a situation because i really care about this community but stay away from Pride if your heart isn’t in it. San Francisco deserved better today. & the cops are out fully strapped …get. home. safe,” she wrote.
There are still a few days left in Pride Month which has seemed to drag on for an eternity or maybe it’s just because of the media’s saturation coverage of it.
