An ugly day of reckoning is coming for ABC after network execs rushed to fire the star of one of their most popular shows earlier this year over yet another social media mob uproar.
Hollywood liberals were apoplectic over the pro-Trump portrayals of the major characters in the reboot of the classic sitcom “Roseanne” and the knives were out for the abrasive comedienne Roseanne Barr long before she slipped up and compared Obama handler Valerie Jarett to a cross between the Muslim Brotherhood and the Planet of the Apes.
But she slipped up on Twitter (she claimed she was on Ambien) and within hours, Disney moved to fire her and put everyone on the show out of work despite another season being scheduled.
Now the suits at ABC are having to swallow the simple fact that by ousting Barr and smearing her as a racist, they also alienated all of the people who made the show a hit in the first place and there is nothing more satisfying than watching smarmy Hollywood liberals being forced to eat their own shit.
The spinoff in which Barr’s character was killed offscreen by an opioid overdose is now deader than Roseanne Conner is as the show stunk out the ratings this Tuesday and is in serious jeopardy of having the plug pulled.
ABC Orders Only 1 More Episode… https://t.co/uYUuxasEuW

“The Conners” dropped in everything last night–total viewers, key demo. In the nightly ratings battle. the “Roseanne” spin off continues to trend downward.
Last night, “The Conners” was beaten by everything- “NCIS,” “The Voice,” etc. This was their first really objective run, no World Series, nothing to distract potential viewers.
But the key demo sank, which isn’t a good sign. And the total viewers were down by 180K, which is a lot, frankly. People are leaving and they’re not coming back.
ABC has ordered 1 extra episode to the original order of 10. Sounds to me like a finale. Someone wakes up and says they dreamt Roseanne died. There’s a cackle from the next room. Fade to black.
The collapse follows a report that even before the relaunch, there were serious misgivings at ABC and that someone was going to take the fall for acting in such a “knee jerk” manner.
As for Roseanne.
On the debut date in a since-deleted Tweet, she thundered: I AIN’T DEAD BITCHES!!!!
The same can’t be said for “The Conners” but don’t expect anyone at ABC to understand that this is only the logical outcome of killing the goose that laid the golden egg.
