A murder suspect in Virginia was identified as an illegal immigrant from Mexico who was allowed to stay in the United States as a DACA recipient thanks to the Obama administration, Fox News reports.
Franklin Freddy Meave Vazquez, 27, is accused of killing one person and injuring two others board a fishing vessel last weekend.
Vasquez was identified by Fox as an illegal immigrant who was granted DACA status in November 2013. His legal status expired in November 2015. His renewal request was denied on August 2016 after he failed to follow up on an information or appearance request.

While in the U.S., Vazquez was arrested in March, accused of abduction by force, intimidation or deception — but he was released on $20,000 bond.
Similarly, Vazquez was released on bond following Sunday’s deadly attack – despite objections by Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE).
Prosecutors said in a charging document the fishing vessel, the Captain Billy Haver, was sailing some 55 miles off Nantucket with seven crew members aboard when Vazquez assaulted one crew member with a hammer in one hand and a knife in the other.
Two of the wounded crew members were taken aboard a nearby cruise ship that responded to the captain’s distress call, and one was pronounced dead by the ship’s doctor.
Vasquez was charged with murder and attempted murder. He faces up to life in prison and $500,000 in fines. He is subject to deportation after serving any possible sentence.
