This might be a big surprise for some of the readers out there, but the newly elected (or should I say re-elected) House Minority Leader is the most unpopular of all Congressional leaders from either party. Yes, indeed, Representative Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) has pulled ahead of both Senator Harry Reid (D-NV) and John Boehner (R-OH) to earn the coveted title of America’s most unpopular Congressional leader.
Although she did win the election to her Party’s leadership fairly easily (according to reports), it would seem that November has not really been a great month for Miss Pelosi. She is, of course, going to be dealing with an even more Republican dominated House than she had in the last session. Now, she is also possibly going to have to figure out a way to keep what already promises to be a raucous Democratic Party in line after Obama has taken a deeply unpopular and illegal executive amnesty action.
58 Percent Have Unfavorable View of Pelosi
The poll was conducted by Rasmussen Reports in a national telephone survey. The results show that 58 percent of likely US voters now have an unfavorable opinion of Pelosi. This number includes 41 percent who hold a Very Unfavorable opinion of her. Only 31 percent of the voters surveyed hold a favorable opinion of the Maryland native and a miniscule 9 percent give her a Very Favorable rating.
Nancy Pelosi? Come on now, how could anyone not like her?? After all, she has received numerous awards and accolades from all the proper liberal groups and organizations. I mean, Planned Parenthood has recognized Miss Nancy with their highest award for ‘leadership, excellence, and outstanding contributions’ for her work in support of abortion. What a wonderful accomplishment…Nancy has been publicly praised for making the work of baby killing more widespread, to the point where it seems almost normal in our society.
Her political ‘work’ in the area of abortion has also been a hindrance to her religion. The Catholic Church, which has largely been reticent to speak publicly on such matters, actually ruled that Nancy may not take Communion as long as she maintains this unorthodox stance, which is indeed against the doctrine and practice of the Catholic Faith.
Pelosi Struck Out on ObamaCare
Then there was that time when she asserted the Founding Fathers would totally and firmly be in support of ObamaCare. She even said that:
“To go back to our founders once again, they sacrificed it all for life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness. This law, the Affordable Care Act [ObamaCare], is about a healthier life, the liberty to pursue your happiness. That is solid policy, and the mandate is central to that.”
This is also the same woman who glowingly told us that we needed to pass the bill in order to find out what was in it! She even went so far as to assert that the average family would see their healthcare costs decrease by $2,500 per year. We all know how that has worked out!
You will likely enjoy this hit parade of Pelosi and her Congressional hits and misses (spoiler alert: they are mostly all misses!):
Where does Pelosi rank on your popularity list? Worthy of being the Democratic House leader?
