Here’s some breaking news, especially for any of you out there who honestly think that ObamaCare is actually ‘working’ in the ‘real’ world. The fact is, according to nearly every poll taken, that people simply don’t like ObamaCare. Maybe this is just because of our low financial literacy, right Kathy Sebelius?
As Americans, we never like being told what we must do, or even what is good for us. On top of that, ObamaCare is little more than a hidden tax and government power grab…and little by little, everyone with even half a brain is coming to recognize these fact. On top of all this, our country is still driven by the free market. Much to the chagrin of the extremist band of liberals who make up Obama’s cadre of advisers and friends and allies, ObamaCare still is not getting any more popularity.
New Numbers Show Americans’ Dislike of ObamaCare Limitations
Once again, these liberals are finding out in a very practical measure, that we Americans don’t want to be told what to do. Heck, I read just the other day that so far only 1 in 4 people who were eligible to do so have updated their ObamaCare insurance coverage.
A new Rasmussen Reports poll was released Monday, showing these very same ideas regarding ObamaCare. We do not want the government mandating coverage. Let’s take a little deeper look inside these results:
The vast majority of Americans (75 percent) feel we should have the right to choose our own health insurance. This would include more expensive options that cover just about everything as well as less expensive options that only include major medical procedures. Furthermore, only 10 percent would disagree…and 15 percent remain undecided.
An even higher super majority of 83 percent think we should be able to choose between plans with high deductible and low premiums, and plans with lower deductibles and higher premiums. Once again, a very small number (6 percent) oppose this type of choice, with just 10 percent remaining undecided. Oh, three-quarters of us also think employers and individuals should be able to buy health insurance across state lines (not allowed under ObamaCare).
New Policy Will Stick Families With Unwanted Health Plans
The interesting thing is that these levels of support remain little changed over the past two years. On top of all this the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) has another new plan proposed for us:
“CMS has proposed a new rule that includes an overly reaching provision allowing CMS to re-enroll anyone who has not made the annual trek back to healthcare.gov in a cheaper plan of CMS’ choosing…
To be clear, a citizen will sign up once for a private plan with a healthcare provider, only to have that plan changed by the federal government. Moreover, CMS will change your plan after the open enrollment period ends, leaving you and your family stuck with a potentially unwanted plan.”
Perfect. That fits right in with the whole idea of a hidden tax, a la Jonathan Gruber. The penalties for not having ObamaCare continue to increase each year: $285 in 2014 goes to $325 per adult (or 2 percent of income) in 2015, 2.5 percent of income in 2016. Eventually the penalty will cap at the national average for a bronze plan. Of course, bronze plan premiums are expected to increase by some 15 percent in 2015….way to go Obama! We’re so happy. Too bad you didn’t get our message in November!
