Brittannee Marie Drexel, then 17, when missing–without a trace–after leaving her friend’s hotel on April 25, 2009 in Myrtle Beach. Since then, FBI agents chased various leads about the Rochester, NY teen but found nothing. Then, on Friday, an FBI agent testified in a bail bond hearing for Timothy Da’Shaun Taylor and implicated him and his father, Shaun. It is believed that Drexel was held in McClellanville–about an hour away from Myrtle Beach–and also where the last pings of her cell phone were traced.
In a jailhouse confession by Taquan Brown, he claims he saw the teen’s final moments after she was gang-raped, shot and dumped into an alligator pit. Yet, Da’Shaun Taylor’s mom says the allegations are “crazy.” They also believed that Drexel was being held in a McClellanville stash house for about three days against her will. Brown also said he saw Drexel run from Da’Shaun’s house, but was caught and “pistol-whipped.” Brown said he was there to give Da’Shaun’s father, Shaun, some money. After the girl was dragged back into the house, he heard two gunshots.
He then saw the girl’s body wrapped up and taken away. FBI agent Gerrick Munoz said the teen’s body was thrown in an “alligator pit” and “eaten by the gators.” Munoz said that Brown shared how Da’Shaun brought Drexel to McClellanville to show her off and introduce her to other friends. They “ended up tricking her out with some of their friends, offering her to them and getting a human trafficking situation.”
Once the case gained national attention, she was “murdered and disposed of.” Da’Shaun is currently being held on additional charges related to being a getaway driver for the robbery of a McDonald’s in 2011. His lawyer, David Aylor, said he did not commit Drexel’s murder.
