Just a few years ago Democrats thought they could legitimately turn Texas into a blue state.
Yes, I know that was just another delusional moment from the Democrats in which we’ve seen many over the last couple of years.
A Texas professor explained the massive failure to the AP.
“If they didn’t have somebody running for governor it’d be a symbol that they’ve given up,” said Brandon Rottinghaus, a political science professor at the University of Houston.
And the lack of a serious 2018 candidate, following the dismal showing of the Democrats in the 2010 and 2014 governor’s races, could make it harder to capitalize later if the political climate improves, as the party expects.
“You run the risk of looking irrelevant,” Rottinghaus said.
I can’t blame the Democrats. The last person they ran was a feminist moron named Wendy Davis who got trounced by 20 points.
I don’t trust state party leadership that would back a person who got their fame off of being overtly pro abortion in a southern evangelical state.
