Piers Morgan, of all people in the world, recently penned a brilliant column for the Daily Mail in which he asserted that if blacks “want the N-word to die,” they should stop using it their own damn selves:
The N-word is a grotesque, odious, evil stain on the English language. It symbolises everything multi-cultural America has fought so hard to move on from – white-run, imperialist, violent, sexually malevolent barbarism.
Yet far from receding in society, it’s spreading; out of the once clearly defined confines of private usage in the black community, into the public hallways of every school in America.
This has to be wrong, doesn’t it?
Better, surely, to have it expunged completely. Eradicated, obliterated, tied to a literary post and whipped into such brutal submission that it never rears its vicious head again.
But this will only happen when America’s black community applies the same level of tolerance to its own use of the word as that now applied in the National Football League: zero.
Exactly. Blacks want to have their cake and eat it too. They want to censor the rest of us from using certain words, all while they dance around like fools, talking about “n-ga” this and “n-ga” that. It’s embarrassing. And I swear to God that I hear more utterances of the n-word daily, courtesy the radio (which barely censors the word), then I do of the articles of language.
Not surprisingly, the scummy life forms known as black elites responded with anger and outrage. Take for instance proud “dark-skinned black feminist and avid hip-hop fan” Arielle Newton, who argued via the Huffington Post that Piers is nothing more than a “privileged white man telling [her] and [her] community how to behave ourselves.”
No. He is just trying to direct some common-sense and wisdom your direction. I know you view yourself as some big giant victim (wah, wah, wah), but you’re not. And even if you were, it still wouldn’t make you so high and mighty that others cannot lodge fair and equitable criticism against you and your community, which by the way outranks all other communities when it comes to violence and poverty. Perhaps you should wipe the egotistical smirk off your face and actually listen instead of bitch and moan for a change?
But no, she instead prefers issuing the following sort of meaningless rhetoric:
Morgan is representative of white-male privilege and entitlement, especially within the racial-justice sphere. For one, he charges black people with ending racism by playing respectability politics. He wants us to police our actions for easier assimilation into “multi-cultural America.” Moreover, he salaciously fixates on black actions within the racial-justice framework without considering those actions within the context of the rapidly corrupting maliciousness of the prison-industrial complex, the school-to-prison pipeline, the failed “war on drugs,” and the slew of other structures that actively erode productive race relations.
So it’s everybody else’s fault that black people commit more crime than individuals from other races? I swear it’s like everybody else tells their kids to behave well and not commit crime, whereas black people tell their kids, “Hey, in case you commit crime, remember that it’s not your fault!”
Anyway. Ta-Nehisi Coates, whose sole life purpose is to use racism to defend badly behaving blacks, also jumped in on the debate by accusing Piers Morgan of having “said something ignorant.” Really? Has the guy ever read one of his own columns over at The Atlantic?

It’s becoming abundantly clear to me that some people cannot be saved. Ignorance and egotism is so ingrained in their souls that they would rather fail in perpetuity than ever drop their defenses and approach life with just a smidgen of humility and common sense.

I am appalled at the blatant sexism and racist undertones used in this article. First of all, implying that those of color in our country are not victimized and socially stigmatized is just ignorant. Several times in this article, grandiose racial assumptions are made implying that black people are more prone to crime because of the color of their skin. The author of this article is attempting to commentate on a social issue that is constructed from a privileged view point. The problem doesn’t lie in the words that we (and yes, I said WE and not THEY) use, but rather the social degradation of non-white middle class culture in america.
If you don’t want white people using the n-word, why do you tolerate it’s unfettered use by black people?
Why should we insist white people not use a word we condone black people using?
