After 29-year-old parolee Raupheal Thomas got out of prison for for armed robbery, he decided to jump back into the robbery game by casing a couple of homes with his buddy in Akron, Ohio, reports Liberty News. Neighbors noticed and called the police. Not surprisingly, Raupheal Thomas got into a scuffle with them and winded up dead. It should be noted that Raupheal reportedly fired a shot, and that the police have recovered his gun.
Here’s where the story gets interesting. The Plain Dealer has decided to turn this thug into a martyr and present him to the world as a “gentle giant,” much like they did with deceased thug Mike Brown:
Raupheal Thomas lightened the mood of the rooms he walked into and was a neat-freak who began turning his life around with the birth of his daughter.
Thomas was a barber and tattoo artist. His mother described him as a “gentle giant.”
“He was a happy young man, a jokester,” Sherry Wilkerson said. “He was always laughing and making people laugh.”
. . . Wilkerson said her son loved to skateboard as a kid and was born with a natural artistic talent that he used to design T-shirts, tattoos and haircuts.
“He was the person who would come up to you and cheer you up when you were down,” Wilkerson said. “He’s not this monster they’re making him out to be.”
Wilkerson said Thomas was a popular athlete who ran track at his West Virginia high school. After the family moved back to Akron, he started hanging out with the wrong crowd, Wilkerson said.
Yes, of course, the convicted armed robber who was casing homes (while illegally possessing a gun) was not the “monster they’re making him out to be.” He was a lover of unicorns and fairy tales and of course Disney.
But it gets better! Protesters have amassed once again to cry and whine and moan and grit their teeth on behalf of a scumbag:
This despite the fact that this man has racked up more criminal charges than OJ Simpson:
Tampering With Evidence
Possess Criminal Tools
Obstruct Off Business
Weapons Under Disability
Carry Concealed Weapon
Firearms In Motor Vehicle
Drug Abuse Marijuana
But remember, folks. We should not judge men by the “content of their character” (MLK), but by whether or not they fit into our warped belief of what constitutes a “gentle giant” . . .
