Six St. Louis residents died during a 12-hour span that began Wednesday night and ended Thursday morning, reports KMOV.
Around 7:25 pm Wednesday evening, 29-year-old Ramon Demery (pictured below) shot and killed 34-year-old Leon Rivers (source):
The murder occurred just after 7 p.m. Wednesday in the 5000 block of Cates Avenue. The victim, identified as Leon Rivers, was shot as he was running from an apartment. When first responders arrived, Rivers was rushed to an area hospital where he was pronounced dead.
Around 12:35 am Thursday morning, 22-year-old Arthur Bolten and 20-year-old Michael Edwards (pictured below) shot and killed 20-year-old Kenny Burgett (source):
Arthur Bolten, 22, had been in relationship a woman who the victim was now reportedly spending time with. On Thursday, Bolten called Burgett, challenging him to a fight. The victim went outside of his apartment building unarmed. According to police, Bolten began shooting at him at close range. Burgett tried to run, but Bolten continued shooting at him and he died as a result of his wounds.

Around 12:45 am Thursday morning, three unidentified black suspects shot and killed 21-year-old Eric Lee and 20-year-old Jerivon Taylor during a vehicle robbery (source):
[The] shooting happened in the 3500 block of Osage Street around 12:45 Thursday morning. Police said three suspects exited a light-colored car, approached three men and announced a robbery. During the robbery, police said at least two of the suspects fired at the three victims, fatally striking two of them. The third person was not struck.
Around 2:56 am Thursday morning, 43-year-old Joseph B. Bowens (pictured below) shot and killed 50-year-old Scott Knopfel, night manager at Drury Inn & Suites (source):
According to police, the suspect came up to the hotel doors, which were locked, but was allowed in by 50-year-old Scott Knopfel, the overnight manager. The man then entered the hotel lobby and engaged in conversation with Knopfel, the hotel’s manager. The suspect showed a handgun and vaulted the counter.
Police say Knopfel and the suspect engaged in a struggle while the cash drawer was opening. The suspect then shot Knopfel in the head.
Around 8:17 am Thursday morning, 49-year-old Willie Barnes (pictured below) shot and killed his ex-girlfriend, 32-year-old Cheri Simpson (source):
Cheri Simpson, 32, was driving her vehicle with her 32-year-old current boyfriend, who was seated in the front seat, and another 32-year-old man in the backseat. Police say Barnes was following Simpson through traffic in a Suburban, and gestured for her to pull over.
. . . When Barnes pulled up alongside Simpson’s vehicle, she rolled down her window and spoke with him. Barnes then allegedly fired shots at Simpson, striking her in her shoulder and chest. She was taken to an area hospital where she died. Simpson’s boyfriend was shot in his hands and is undergoing surgery.
